Atlantic Cod Decomposition – winter
In polar regions, with their highly seasonal production, prolonged periods of total darkness, and high levels of disturbance, necrophagy is a is a frequently used feeding strategy. Here you see rapid decomposition of atlantic cod during polar night. Video was included as a supplementary material in latest paper on activity of organisms during polar night which was highlighted by the BBC News.
